TOMMY THOMSEN LEAVES IFU

IFU's CEO Tommy Thomsen is leaving IFU, and the Minister for Development Cooperation has appointed Torben Huss as acting CEO.

After five years as CEO of IFU, Tommy Thomsen will be leaving IFU to take up a new CEO assignment in the private sector as of 1 January 2019.

Tommy Thomsen is leaving a strong organisation and leadership team. The Minister for Development Cooperation has on the recommendation of the chairmanship of IFU’s board appointed Torben Huss as acting CEO effective today. Torben Huss has been part of IFU’s executive board for the past 10 years.

– During Tommy Thomsen’s time as CEO of IFU, the organisation has grown significantly, and a close collaboration to invest in developing countries has been built with Danish pension funds, which recently resulted in the Danish SDG Investment Fund. Today, IFU is an important part of Denmark’s development policy. I would like to thank Tommy Thomsen for that, said Ulla Tørnæs, Minister for Development Cooperation.

– Tommy and Torben have both been pivotal to the strong development, growth and success of IFU, and I would like to thank them both for their great dedication and commitment. I wish Tommy much success in his new assignment and likewise wish Torben continued success with the further growth and development of IFU, said Michael Rasmussen, Chairman of IFU’s Board of Directors.
