IFU has for several years been investing in Latin America. When the Colombian Charge d’Affaires, Duván Ocampo, and a delegation from the Colombian Embassy to Denmark visited IFU they discussed future potential investments in Colombia within IFU strategic sectors, including renewable energy, energy transition and reforestation.
The Colombian delegation emphasised the country’s commitment to sustainable development set forward in the National Development Plan 2022 – 2026. And it was highlighted that the country has a solid potential for investments in solar and wind energy due to high irradiation and winds. Also, the fact that half of the national territory is made up of forests is important for the conservation of natural resources and the mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
“Colombia is an interesting investment destination and is a good fit with our ambition to support the green transition and promote better living conditions in the investment countries. And we are looking forward to investigating the investment opportunities further.”
Oliver Stanek Villsen, Senior Investment Manager in IFU.
