ORANA REAPS THE FRUITS OF GLOBALISATION

Orana A/S is a Danish company producing fruit concentrates for dairy, juice and bread producers as well as products aimed at the food service sector. Today, the company exports to more than 40 countries and has established production in a number of developing countries.

Originally, Orana was established as a part of Rynkeby Foods A/S, but today it is an independent company exporting to more than 40 countries with production in Vietnam, Malaysia, India and Egypt.

Tailored to individual markets

Orana has developed a broad range of fruit concentrates for various food producers. The majority of the products are tailored for individual markets and the taste of the consumers in question and the producers that are using them. Orana also produces a number of traditional concentrates enriched with e.g. calcium, minerals, fibres and vitamins.

New products

Once, Orana only produced fruit concentrates for a number of large Danish and international manufacturers within the food industry, such as Arla Foods, Carlsberg and Nestlé. However, in recent years the company has developed a product line for the food service sector for cafés, hotels and restaurants with special focus on the Far East. Included in the product line are smoothies and ice cream, syrups for coffee and marmalade.

“Developing fruit products aimed at individual markets and consumers is vital for our success. Therefore it is of great importance that we are close to our markets and customers”

Niels Østerberg, managing director of Orana

IFU has contributed to the establishment

IFU’s first investment in Orana was in Vietnam. Since then, IFU has been involved in the company’s investments in India and Egypt. IFU has contributed with advice and financing in the form of loans and equity. IFU also holds a seat on the boards of the companies.

– IFU has made an important contribution to our growth strategy and has been important to our success in the new markets, said Niels Østerberg.
