The Arab Investment Fund
The Arab Investment Fund covers seven countries in North Africa and the Middle East. IFU has in the past been able to invest in some of these countries and has completed just over 30 investments in the region.
North Africa and the Middle East present business opportunities for Danish companies, particularly in the areas of tourism, infrastructure, food, energy and the environment.
The countries in which the AIF can invest are diverse, but a common feature is that they are close to Europe, have a relatively well-educated workforce, and English or French language skills are common. Also, there is a shortage of jobs, which makes it possible to attract skilled staff at attractive, competitive wage levels.
The seven countries covered by the AIF are Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan and Iraq.
Just over 30 investments in the region
IFU has completed just over 30 investments in the region in partnership with enterprises such as FLSmidth, A.P. Møller-Maersk, Aalborg Portland, Rezidor Hotels and Aller Aqua Group.
IFU's office in Cairo, Egypt collaborates with the investment team in Copenhagen on advising Danish companies in Denmark as well as on location in the host countries.
