A large number of tools are currently being developed around the world to be used at different stages and levels in the process of implementing a CSR policy. The tools are being developed by industrial organisations, consultants, NGOs or in cooperation between different stakeholder groups.
IFU is prepared to assist the project companies in getting an overview of the many tools and advise on which of them might fulfil the needs of the company. We are prepared to give guidance on how the individual tools may be used.
"Quick Check"
Quick Check is IFU’s tool for project companies to assess to which extent they meet the most fundamental international standards for human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption. The tool is a quick and easy way to determine to what extent a company meets the most fundamental rights and requirements regarding significant CSR issues. The tool is a questionnaire and can be used as a learning process for management as well as employees. The tool helps to understand the full scope of the CSR idea, identify any sensitive areas and prioritise the activities. Quick Check has been developed by the Danish Institute for Human Rights in cooperation with IFU, the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) and the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, and its official name is the Global Compact Self Assessment Tool. Corporate Governance Policy
IFU has made a proposal for a Corporate Governance Policy that can act as a template for preparing a good policy for management of the project company.
CSR cooperation with suppliers
IFU has published a leaflet describing how the project companies can ensure proper CSR practices among their suppliers. Among other things, the tool describes how the project company can form a general view of its suppliers and business partners, how to prioritise them and set goals for the business partnership.
Annual CSR status report and possible CSR action plan
IFU has prepared a number of guidelines and templates to be used by the project companies, e.g. when preparing the annual CSR status report or a CSR action plan, if required.
