For ethical reasons IFU does not finance:

• Production or trade deemed illegal under host country laws or international conventions
• Production or activities involving forced labor or child labour
• Production or trade in weapons and munitions
• Production of tobacco and hard liquor
• Trade in wildlife or wildlife products
• Any business relating to gambling, pornography or prostitution
• Production or trade in pharmaceuticals, pesticides, chemicals and other hazardous substances subject to international phase-outs or bans
• Cross-border trade in waste and waste products unless compliant to the Basel Convention
• Drift net fishing using nets in excess of 2.5 km in length
• Destruction of critical habitat – e.g. areas with valuable bio-diversity
• Production and distribution of racist, anti-democratic and/or neo-Nazi media.

Furthermore, IFU does not participate in productions that include substances or materials that may be legal in some of the host countries of IFU, but that are prohibited in Denmark. I.e. substances that are considered dangerous to the environment and to the people that are subjected to them.

It includes production using asbestos fibres, PCB, CFC gasses or radioactive materials.
